Okay, I think the heat is getting to me. I played around on Jib Jab today and couldn't help poking fun and my dad and my husband. Good thing they got a laugh out of it. Enjoy!

~ Fly Away ~
My youngest son Mikey aka "Mouse" races mountain bikes and has recently graduated to motorcycles. That's a Honda CR250 - two stroke for those of you who didn't know. It's great fun to watch him ride, except he has a little problem keeping his wheels on the ground. The show might take a minute or two to download. Enjoy!

~ The Human Experience ~
As most of you know, I am primarily a sports photographer. But something happens to me when I look through my camera. I fall in love with whatever (or whomever) I'm shooting. I can't help it and I don't know why it happens. It could be a subject I previously had no personal interest in, but when I look through my lens it becomes something more than what I saw with my naked eye, and I'm enchanted. It usually takes me about 3 minutes to be completely smitten, and sometimes I get lucky and capture that feeling in my images.
I am addicted to capturing those illusive moments, which is what makes me shoot day after day. It's like I'm an addict looking for a fix, and the quest for that fix makes me push the boundaries of my skill and do everything I can to be a better photographer today than I was yesterday.
I am affected most by my subject when I stop worrying about the technical aspect of shooting and focus on the moment. It doesn't matter how mundane the subject is because there is beauty to be found in everything when I look for it with my heart.
So, keeping these thoughts in mind, here is the human experience... as I see it. Enjoy.

~ Trying To Kill My Kids ~

I really enjoyed the weather today and found myself fantasizing about going to Lake Havasu. My parents have a house out there and we go every summer. This year's trip is not too far off and I can't wait to go. Every time time I think about Lake Havasu, I can't help but think about last summer's trip when I took my boys and one of their friends (can you imagine having a 14, 15, 16, and 17 year old boy for an entire week at the river?). I honestly can't remember a time when I laughed so hard as I did that week. Boys are so much fun and just as silly as girls. Anyway, part of the reason we laughed so hard on that trip was because of the great inner tube adventure. My pop agreed to pull the kids behind the (very fast) boat all the while doing everything in his power to throw them off the tube. We've always been a river family, so Pop has perfected the art of whipping the tube to what must seem like twice the speed of sound. We laughed so hard at the kids' near misses, wondered how they survived some of the in air acrobatics, and basically had the time of our lives. Since my trusty camera is never too far from me, I somehow managed to take photos in the midst of the craziness. You know you are having a good day at the office when the photos you bring home correctly convey the emotion of the moment, and I think these photos did just that.

~ People Suck ~
What is wrong with people these days? I pray this guy turns himself in. If he doesn't, I know he will get what he deserves when he meets our maker. Enough said.
