~ Zack's Senior Portraits ~

My son Zack is a senior and most of my past attempts to shoot photos of him have resulted in a bunch of giggling (on my part) and messing around (on his part). Luckily my next door neighbors happen to be photographers, so I decided to hire them to shoot Zack for me. They are twins - Brian and Brandon Wright, and their work has an edgy feel to it that I thought would fit Zack's style quite well.

The day of the shoot, I was off shooting a golf tournament, so I had no say in what Zack chose to wear. The only input I had was the concept of shooting Zack's portraits with his car at night on one of our local mountain roads. As it turned out, the night was foggy and cold, which added the perfect amount of drama to Zack's photos. Zack couldn't have picked better clothes to wear. His red shirt works really well and adds just the right amount of color to the images.

Brian and Brandon did a fantastic job, and I hope that someday we will have an opportunity to work together because our shooting styles are so different and I think I would learn a ton from them (hopefully they would learn a ton from me too).

I've attached (with their permission) some of the photos from Zack's shoot. To see more of Brian and Brandon's work, click on the title of this thread, or click this link.

~ Senior Portraits ~

Well, it's that time of year again. The rush to get senior portraits shot before graduation. Here's a couple from a session I did with Anna last Tuesday, and I have three football players scheduled for next week.

Shooting girls is so much different than shooting boys. Despite the obvious - I find the way I approach the girls and the whole feel of the photo session to be like night and day compared to when I shoot boys.

I'm not sure which is more fun. All I know is that my quest to find that one thing that makes each person special is what keeps me pressing the shutter.
